Michael Wood was born in London in 1952, studying Art and Design at Twickenham College of Technology, and painting and printing at Hammersmith Art School, prior to attending Whitelands College of Education and Gorham College, Maine, USA, where he specialised in photography and qulified as an art teacher.
Michael has travelled widely, and his painting reflect a wide range of European locations, away from the tourist sights, for example the faded houses of the neglected mediaeval villages of the south of France, and his favourite backwaters of Venice.
