Lucelle Raad

Lucelle Raad is an 'intimist' painter, bringing the viewer into an intimate releationship with her subjects seen at play or in repose. Her early studies were influenced by the Barbizon School and by Sorola, finding that pictures conceived in the studio lacked that brightness which made outside objects more exciting. Observing children playing on the beach she captures the changing colours, as the light relects from the sand and waters around them.
