David Dodsworth

David was born in 1952 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and educated at Lancaster School of Art, and Sunderland Polytechnic. He has developed his own style, modern and symbolic, using texture, colour and text to produce work which is very three dimensional in nature, using etching with carborundum. His work is very involved with a sense of having to achieve a set of objectives to complete each image. The paper is hand made and highly textured with metalic foil embedded within the layers. The colours are applied strongly, and yet sympathically, and achieve an almost organic feel. His work has been exhibited world-wide, and he has developed a following in the US where he often exhibits.
